The Beach House Chardonnay has a strong following and has become a favourite among Chardonnay lovers across NZ. 100% hand-picked and gently whole bunch pressed to tank to cold settle overnight. The clean juice was then pumped into French oak barrels including 23% new oak. Some were inoculated while others underwent wild ferment. Our temperature controlled barrel hall allowed the wine to ferment at around 18-20 degrees. 100% Malo-lactic fermentation was completed in barrel and every barrel was stirred once a week until the wine was blended, filtered and bottled in March 2014.
2014 was another outstanding year for Chardonnay in Hawke’s Bay. Not quite as dry as the 2012/2013 growing season but plenty of heat. The 2014 Beach House Chardonnay has all the hallmarks of a fine Chardonnay. Peach, pineapple and melon on the nose with a nutty and seductively powerful ripe citrus palate. A complex, seamless Chardonnay with mouth-watering texture and impeccable balance.
